IUI – INTRAUTERINE INSEMINATION

the process of injecting donor’s or partner’s sperm into the woman’s uterus

simple, short and painless procedure

indicated in cases of:

male infertility when spermatozoa are weak and their motility is limited

women who do not have a stable cycle (ovulation disorders), where relevant preparation is needed using medication

women who do not have a partner and choose a sperm donor

it is important before starting the insemination procedure to check the tubal patency by hycosy or hysterosalpingography

in a natural cycle after woman’s ovulation has been confirmed by ultrasound and hormonal blood tests

or

after mild ovarian stimulation and ovulation induction with medication

on the day of insemination, the sperm is elaborated and activated

the activated sperm is placed inside the uterus through a thin catheter

short procedure completed within a few minutes

15 days later, pregnancy test takes place
