PESA – TESA – SURGICAL SPERM COLLECTION

sperm collection in cases of men with azoospermia or in the absence of ejaculation is carried out by appropriate microsurgical procedures:

  • by needle aspiration from the testicles (TESA) and epididymis (PESA)
  • by microsurgical biopsy of the testicles (TESE) or epididymis (PESE)

the semen sample obtained is elaborated accordingly so to be used for ICSI on the day of the woman’s egg collection or frozen to be used in a future attempt

what is needed for the procedure?

  • tests for infectious diseases (HIV 1-2, Syphilis, Hepatitis B, C) in the last 6 months prior to the procedure
  • Cardiogram of the last 6 months as the process is under sedation
