SPERM FREEZING
the process that enables every man to maintain his fertility
the storage lasts for 10 years with the possibility of renewal for another 10 years
simple and can be done at any time
the man needs to have 2-3 days of abstinence before providing a sperm sample
he may keep as many samples as he wishes
when is sperm freezing indicated:
- in case the man is not available for his partner’s egg collection/insemination
- in men with oligospermia or perhaps showing a deterioration in sperm quality over time
- before chemotherapy or radiotherapy as both treatments may affect men’s future fertility
the person interested must sign the appropriate consent forms for freezing and have been tested for infectious diseases (HIV 1-2, Syphilis, Hepatitis B, C) in the last 6 months prior to freezing
